About Snitterfield Snipers FC

Re-founded in 2006; Snitterfield adults team was set-up with the help of Brad Warren, Thierry Richards and Mark Clarke. It had been several years since there was any sort of adults team in the village which meant we had many troubles to contend with, finding a pitch and players wern't easy tasks.

Our first two seasons have been difficult, with constant player shortages and pitch troubles we have never been able to field the same team two weeks running.

We finished mid-table in season 2006/07, a team where over half of our players had never played a proper football match.

Pre-season training in summer 2007 was not a success, with many of our key players leaving over the summer, and no guaranteed pitch for the coming season; training turnouts were very poor and we got very close to folding before the season even began.

We did manage to find a pitch, at Shottery fields which wasn't great, but we knew this wouldnt be our permanent home so we just made sure we kept going.

The 2007/08 season hasn't been brilliant, with lots of players coming and going, no goalkeeper for over half the season and many injuries and suspensions; we have found it very hard.

We now have a new pitch in Snitterfield to play at next season which means we can concentrate on bringing in new players. Things are looking up for the coming season, with a slightly larger squad already and support from the village.
